About Us
Fraser Coast Bicycle Users Group
Fraser Coast Bicycle Users Group was formed in 2003.
It is dedicated to promoting cycling for fun, fitness and social interaction.
It is not a racing club.
FCBUG is a significant community cycling club and provides a broad offering:
– The Saturday Club rides
– Weekday group rides
– Off road adventure riding – forest trails, MTB tracks
– Multiday, road and offroad, rides and tours
– Non ride social events
Our Saturday Club rides offer 7 ride speed groups from 15kph (Gr1) to 30kph (Gr7).
As well as riding, FCBUG is an advocate for cycling infrastructure and engages with
all levels of government and has a formal MOU with our state body Bicycle QLD
(BQ). FCBUG actively promotes and supports the Mary to Bay Rail Trail (M2BRT)
FCBUG members are always ready to assist with information about how, where and when to ride, as well as types of bikes, apparel, accessories, changing a tyre and bike repairs.
Riding with others means you will be riding in a group, also known as a ‘bunch’ when riding close. There are several aspects to a group/bunch riding:
– Safety – the road, the rider, the bike, the bunch
– Communication – between riders with voice and hand signals
– Specific skills and etiquette especially when close to other riders

Virtually every ride, on the road or a bush trail, is followed by THE coffee.
